What’s a typical OF (training organization) career path? It’s a legitimate question, but the fact is that there isn’t really ONE typical course, but rather several possibilities depending on the organization’s desires and specificities. In this article, we offer a brief overview!
To make things clearer, we’ve chosen to give you a visual summary of the 4 main stages. Only the first is compulsory for all OFs, the other three depend on your situation, your needs and your desires in terms of development!
Creation and legal existence
There’s only one compulsory point, and it’s the same for everyone! You need to set up a business, whatever its status (company, autoentreprise, SASU…), and then declare yourself as a training organization, in order to obtain a Numéro de Déclaration d’Activité (NDA).
Qualiopi
Although many OFs choose to obtain Qualiopi certification, it is not compulsory. For many freelancers, for example, it’s not really relevant. You can be a training organization and still have only direct-paying customers. Qualiopi is, however, very useful if you want to propose funding to OPCOs, regions, France Travail (formerly Pôle Emploi), Agefiph and so on. It’s also a useful investment if you want to be a subcontractor for other OFs using CPF, for example.
Development and partnerships
This is an interesting step, as most OFs are looking to expand. This can be achieved through partnerships, enabling you to offer training courses eligible for CPF and/or leading to certification, without having to become a certifier yourself!
Become a certification body
Last but not least, registering a certification with the RS or RNCP is a possible evolution for the OF, without corresponding to all OFs, far from it! Becoming a certifier means really developing your organization, taking on new responsibilities and developing a new activity. It’s a great opportunity, but not to be taken lightly!
So much for these four key stages in the life of an OF! It’s very important to do what’s best for your center, and not to follow the example of other centers. If you’d like to discuss your organization and its specificities, send us a message!
