As 2024 draws to a close, it’s time for us – and many other organizations! – to take stock of a year rich in challenges and successes.
This end-of-year assessment, both quantitative and qualitative, is essential to measure our impact, refine our vision, and prepare for the new year in the best possible way! In short, even if it’s a bit philosophical: understand the past to better prepare for the future!
Diligence’s 2024 Annual Review: Between support and overhaul
This year, we celebrated the fifth anniversary of Diligence Consulting! This anniversary marks a milestone for us, and has made us think a lot about the changes we’ve seen over the last few years, particularly in the team that has grown with Lucile and then Vanessa.
Going from a one-man business to a team of two, then to a team of three, changes a lot of things! At the same time, our personal lives have changed too, and as every entrepreneur knows, the personal always influences the professional, and vice versa!
And so, this year, we asked ourselves a lot of questions and felt the need to go back to basics: our logo, our website, our CRM… And we know that this will continue into 2025: getting back to basics so we’re better prepared for what’s to come is a long-term job, but one that’s so gratifying.
And, of course, our 2024 annual report is marked by a wide range of support services for OPACs! Whether it’s preparing for QUALIOPI, applying for registration of RS or RNCP certifications, or more global strategic consulting, this year we once again had the pleasure of advising our customers and helping them to develop their organizations in a sustainable way that is above all adapted to their needs and specificities!
Why do an Annual Review?
The annual review is much more than a formality: it’s an essential moment for any company that wants to continue to grow! It enables us to do several things:
Measuring numbers
An annual balance sheet already allows you to monitor KPIs, to see the facts and figures: sales of course, but also the number of customers, project profitability, company expenses, etc. These figures are sometimes uncomfortable, but they are in fact the basis on which you can make the right decisions. These figures are sometimes uncomfortable, but they are in fact the basis for making the right decisions.
Analyze practices
Once you’ve got the figures, you still need to understand and analyze them: What explains a drop or increase in the number of customers? Sales? What actions have had a positive impact? Which actions didn’t work, or weren’t sufficiently profitable, and why?
Aligning strategy with priorities
Based on this analysis, we can assess the priorities for the coming year and implement the first actions. The annual strategy enables us to keep in step with the past year’s results and remain focused on our objectives and needs!
Motivating teams
Last but not least, sharing results, especially successes, and defining objectives for the following year together helps to create cohesion and commitment among all employees. Transparency about failures and areas for improvement is also essential to maintain the bond of trust, and work together to rectify what needs to be rectified!
How to carry out an effective annual review?
Here are a few key steps to a successful annual review:
1. Collect accurate, useful data
Gather the relevant data according to your objectives, your needs, and so on. Always think about what’s useful for you – it may not be the same data as for your neighbor! The best thing is to have a table that you update throughout the year!
2. Assess customer satisfaction
It may sound basic, but it’s essential: collect and analyze your customers’ opinions and feedback, to understand their needs, what worked for them, what could be improved – whether in terms of service/product, customer experience, technical aspects…
3. Involving teams
Involve your employees in analyzing the results. Their feedback is generally invaluable in understanding the figures collected, and what’s more, it allows them to feel involved in the life of the company! What’s more, sometimes all you can do to justify a figure is to make hypotheses that need to be verified at a later date.
4. Identify strategic priorities
Based on the results and analyses, define the priorities for the coming year: growth and development, process optimization, innovation, marketing, etc.
Springboard for the Future
In conclusion, an annual review is not simply a retrospection, it’s a real preparation for the future. At Diligence Consulting, we firmly believe that the right strategies are the key to constant, sustainable development!
