Annual Review 2024: Why is it essential?

That’s it, 2024 is coming to an end, and it’s time for us – as for many organizations! – to take stock of a year full of challenges and successes.

This end-of-year review, both quantitative and qualitative, is essential to measure our impact, refine our vision, and prepare for the new year in the best possible way! In short, even if it's a bit philosophical: understand the past to better prepare for the future!

Bilan annuel 2024

Le Bilan annuel 2024 de Diligence : Entre accompagnements et Refonte

This year, we celebrated Diligence Consulting's fifth anniversary! This anniversary marks a milestone for us, and made us think a lot about the changes of recent years, particularly in the team that has grown with Lucile and then Vanessa.

Going from a one-man business to a team of two, then to a team of three, changes a lot of things! At the same time, our personal lives have also changed a lot, and as every entrepreneur knows, the personal always influences the professional, and vice versa!

And so, this year, we asked ourselves a lot of questions and we felt the need to go back to certain basics: our logo, our website, our CRM... And we know that it will continue in 2025: going back to the foundations to better understand what comes next is a long-term job, but so rewarding.

And then of course, our 2024 annual report is marked by various support for OPACs! Whether it is on preparation for QUALIOPI, the request for registration of RS or RNCP certifications, or on more global strategic advice, this year again we had the pleasure of advising our clients and helping them develop their organizations in a sustainable manner and above all adapted to their needs and specificities!

Why Do an Annual Review?

The annual review is much more than a formality: it is an essential moment for any company that wants to continue to grow! It allows several things:

Measuring the numbers

An annual review already allows you to monitor KPIs, to see the facts and the figures: turnover of course, but also the number of customers, the profitability of projects, the company's expenses, etc. These figures are sometimes uncomfortable, but are in fact the basis on which to rely to make the right decisions.

Analyze practices

Once we have the figures, we still need to understand and analyze them: What explains a decrease or increase in the number of customers? In turnover? What actions had a positive impact? What actions did not work well, or were not profitable enough, and why?

Aligning strategy with priorities

From this analysis, we can assess the priorities for the coming year and implement the first actions. The annual strategy allows us to stay in line with the results of the past year and to stay focused on the objectives and needs!

Motivating teams

Last but not least: sharing results, especially successes, and defining the objectives for the following year together helps to create cohesion and commitment among all employees. Transparency about failures and areas for improvement is also essential to maintain trust and work together to rectify what needs to be corrected!

How to Conduct an Effective Annual Review?

Here are some key steps to successfully completing your annual review:

1. Collect accurate and useful data

Gather relevant data based on your goals, needs, etc. Always think about what is useful for you, it may not be the same data as for the neighbor! The best thing is to have a table that you update throughout the year!

2. Evaluate customer satisfaction

It may seem basic, but it is essential: collect and analyze your customers' opinions and feedback, to understand their needs, what worked for them, what could be improved - whether in terms of service/product, customer experience, technical aspects, etc.

3. Involve the teams

Allow your employees to participate in the analysis of the results. Their feedback is generally valuable to better understand the figures collected, and it also allows them to feel involved in the life of the company! And then, sometimes, to justify a figure, we can only make hypotheses to be verified later - thinking together is then very interesting!

4. Identify strategic priorities

Based on the results and analyses, define the priority areas for the coming year: growth and development, process optimization, innovation, marketing, etc.

A Springboard for the Future

In conclusion, doing an annual review is not a simple retrospection, it is a real preparation for the future. At Diligence Consulting, we firmly believe that good strategies ensure constant and sustainable development!
