Registering an RS or RNCP certification without prior study is a real risk. The rejection rate is high, particularly in the absence of a clear link with the business or solid engineering. But you also need to be aware that becoming a certification body means adding a whole new string to your bow. You have to be ready to take on these responsibilities.

🔍 Good to know: The RNCP’s promise implies complex engineering, a study of the job market, and a strong link with socio-economic needs. RS is sometimes wrongly considered “easier”. While there are fewer deliverables (notably the insertion study table and the VAE), it is nonetheless a complex strategic dossier in which you need to demonstrate the full value of your certification.

What’s more, France Compétences is also interested in this aspect. If you’re an independent trainer, you can apply for certification. However, you’ll need to explain and show France Compétences how you’re going to manage the workload (tools, automation, external help…). If you don’t, you risk a refusal, because registering an RS or RNCP certification should not put your organization at risk.
If you don’t feel ready to become a certifier, but would like to offer certification to your customers, in order to enhance their career path, you can be accredited by an already-registered certifier.
⚠️ Many organizations work with certification partners, but this strategy requires a clear understanding of the terms and conditions of accreditation, quality criteria and certification management. A detailed agreement must be signed, setting out the rights, obligations and limits of each party.
A successful partnership is a great added value for both parties, but it’s essential to prepare it well, as the responsibility involved is considerable: finances, reputation, results, future of certification.
