What is a consultant?

Diligence Consulting is, as its name suggests, a consulting firm. But what exactly is a consultant, and how can we help our customers, particularly in the field of professional training? We explain it all in this article!

What is a consultant?

A profession linked to support

If you’re wondering “what is a consultant”, you should know that a consultant is there when you need help, advice and support to bring a project to fruition. This may be a highly specific project (e.g. registering my X certification with France Compétences) or simply a desire to develop, optimize or modernize your organization. Either way, you’re feeling a little (or a lot) lost, you don’t know where to start, or you need an outside perspective. In all these cases, you can turn to a consultant for help!

Diagnostic work

As consultants, we first diagnose your problem and understand your needs. This is the first step in any support process. For example, when filing a claim with France Compétence, we’ll identify your project precisely and check its feasibility. We need to understand exactly what brought you to contact us, who you are, what projects you have, what resources you have and what obstacles you face. Then we can really help you!

Consulting work

We also play the role of advisors, which is the key to good support. We’ll identify your project’s strengths, areas for improvement and possible stumbling blocks, explain them to you and advise you on how to proceed, and the various options open to you if necessary. Sometimes, for example, we advise clients not to register immediately with the RNCP, but to wait and rework certain things, or to turn to another option more in line with their needs, motivations and constraints! Advice is extremely important and must be aligned with your needs, even if sometimes we won’t tell you what you’d like to hear… Our core business is to help you by providing advice, solutions and ideas to help you achieve your goals and, above all, stay in the green!

A collaborative effort

Finally, the third key word is collaboration! Successful support is only possible if we work hand in hand. We can’t (and won’t!) work for you, we need you. We’ll explain, advise and support you at every stage of your project, but it’s essential that you’re involved and active! Otherwise, the project won’t bear fruit in the long term. We work in complete transparency, both synchronously and asynchronously depending on the project, and we’re always on hand to answer your questions and move forward together!

We hope you’ve got a better idea of what we do, and that the question “What is a consultant?” has been put out of your mind! Consulting is our core business, but we also wear other hats! We invite you to find out more about us in our newsletter (and there’s plenty of advice on professional training too!).
