What education transmits shapes perception, and perception defines what societies will later accept, tolerate or resist.\n  <\/p>\n\n  <p class=\"context\">\n    This article is the second part of a three-part reflection on knowledge, transmission and stability. The first examined how institutional memory shapes the resilience of societies through the example of Alexandria. This second text examines where that memory begins: childhood.\n  <\/p>\n\n  <h2 class=\"thesis\">What Education Transmits Shapes the Political World Children Will Later Accept<\/h2>\n\n  <p>Political analysis often begins with institutions, laws and borders.<\/p>\n\n  <p>It begins too late.<\/p>\n\n  <p>Politics does not start with legislation. It begins with formation.<\/p>\n\n  <p>Childhood is the first political territory, not because ideology is imposed there, but because perception is shaped there.<\/p>\n\n  <p>What a society chooses to teach its children shapes what they will later consider normal, legitimate or inevitable.<\/p>\n\n  <h2>Perception Precedes Power<\/h2>\n\n  <p>Before citizens vote, protest or govern, they learn how to see.<\/p>\n\n  <p>A child taught to observe develops patience. A child taught to question develops distance. A child taught to name complexity develops intellectual autonomy.<\/p>\n\n  <p>Conversely, a child trained primarily to execute may learn compliance before judgement. A child trained primarily to perform may learn to associate error with failure. A child taught to equate success with worth may come to measure value through output alone.<\/p>\n\n  <p>Education does not simply transmit content. It calibrates perception.<\/p>\n\n  <p>And perception defines the limits of what a generation will tolerate.<\/p>\n\n  <h2>School as a Transmission of Worldviews<\/h2>\n\n  <p>Schools transmit more than knowledge. They also transmit a structure of meaning.<\/p>\n\n  <p>They shape the relationship to authority, the relationship to doubt, the relationship to difference and the relationship to truth.<\/p>\n\n  <p>Memorisation is not thought. Performance is not understanding.<\/p>\n\n  <p>An education system reduced to competencies may produce functional performance without forming judgement. An education system that cultivates judgement prepares individuals to act as citizens.<\/p>\n\n  <p>This distinction is not pedagogical. It is political.<\/p>\n\n  <p style=\"font-weight: 500; margin-top: 20px;\">Education does not merely shape individuals. It defines the range of political realities a society can sustain.<\/p>\n\n  <h2>Lived Experience and Cognitive Formation<\/h2>\n\n  <p>In Romania, I encountered an educational culture whose international visibility did not always reflect the rigour of its mathematical, scientific and medical traditions.<\/p>\n\n  <p>The emphasis was not on branding or innovation rhetoric. It was on intellectual solidity \u2014 disciplines that require discipline of thought.<\/p>\n\n  <p>I learned botany outdoors, not as abstraction but as observation. We were asked to look before we were asked to conclude.<\/p>\n\n  <p>Elsewhere, in parts of Africa, I saw children travel long distances to reach school, in contexts where access to education carried a visible social and personal weight.<\/p>\n\n  <p>Education was not treated as a service. It was treated as a matter of dignity.<\/p>\n\n  <p>Across different contexts, the constant was not wealth. It was seriousness.<\/p>\n\n  <p>Seriousness in what was transmitted. Seriousness in how learning was regarded.<\/p>\n\n  <h2>The Political Consequences of Educational Reduction<\/h2>\n\n  <p>When education is reduced to immediate utility, societies narrow their cognitive horizons.<\/p>\n\n  <p>If children are not taught historical depth, collective memory weakens. If they are not taught philosophical reasoning, moral reflexivity diminishes. If they are not taught scientific rigour, discernment erodes.<\/p>\n\n  <p>Radicalisation can be facilitated by educational environments that weaken historical depth, critical reasoning and the capacity to sustain complexity.<\/p>\n\n  <p>Political violence is often preceded by a prolonged simplification of language, history and legitimate forms of knowledge.<\/p>\n\n  <h2>Peace Begins in Cognitive Formation<\/h2>\n\n  <p>Peace is not an abstract ideal. It is a collective competence.<\/p>\n\n  <p>It depends on the capacity to hold contradictory perspectives, tolerate ambiguity and distinguish disagreement from hostility.<\/p>\n\n  <p>These capacities are not formed only in diplomatic institutions. They begin in classrooms, families, playgrounds and other environments of transmission.<\/p>\n\n  <p>A society that educates for complexity strengthens its resistance to manipulation. A society that privileges obedience over judgement weakens it.<\/p>\n\n  <h2>Intergenerational Responsibility<\/h2>\n\n  <p>Each generation inherits an unfinished world.<\/p>\n\n  <p>What it chooses to transmit determines whether that world becomes more stable or more fragile.<\/p>\n\n  <p>To educate is not merely to prepare individuals for employment. It is to define the cognitive architecture of a society.<\/p>\n\n  <p>Childhood is therefore not a neutral phase of life. It is the first territory in which political possibility is formed.<\/p>\n\n  <p>The essential question is not simply what we teach. It is what kind of human being our systems of education make structurally possible.<\/p>\n\n  <div class=\"transition\">\n    <p>This article follows <a
