What are the Readings
The Readings of the House are the public corpus of the institutional readings conducted by Diligence Consulting, the House of Educational Diplomacy. Each Reading restitutes the anonymised reading of a real institutional case. Each begins with a certainty the decision-maker could legitimately hold, reveals a blind spot, and concludes with a doctrinal verdict.
Read together, these cases make visible the grammar an authority, a Rectorate, an investor or an accreditation panel applies before responding. No institution is ever read for the first time.

How each institutional reading is built
Each Reading follows a constant structure. The structure is not a template. It is the public form of a doctrinal grammar. The reader follows the order in which the system forms its own reading. It rests on the four properties a legible institution must establish: understood, assigned, defended, assumed.
The certainty. A statement the decision-maker could legitimately hold. Rarely false. Almost always incomplete.
The blind spot. What the certainty did not include. The friction visible from the system, not from within the project.
The consequence. What structurally changes if the blind spot is not addressed before exposure.
The case. The anonymised structure on which the reading was conducted. No identifying detail disclosed.
The tension. Four signals that revealed the gap between what the project showed and what the system would read.
The system’s reading. The four dimensions through which the institutional reading was conducted on this structure.
The verdict. A doctrinal declaration at one of three levels: GO, NOT YET or NO GO. Followed by conditions of reconstitution where relevant.
Three verdicts. Three trajectories.
Each Reading closes with one of three verdicts. The verdict is not a recommendation. It is a structural declaration. It documents the position of the structure at the moment of the reading.
GO
The structure, as it stands, can enter exposure without major adjustment. The four properties of a legible institution are already in place. The trajectory can be deployed.
NOT YET
The trajectory is viable but must be architected before exposure. The four properties are not yet consolidated to withstand the examination that will follow. Prior architecture is required.
NO GO
The structure, in its current configuration, cannot be defended. It sometimes protects the decision-maker’s value more than execution itself, because it prevents an irreversibility still avoidable. Rare. Doctrinally essential.
The best mandate is sometimes the one that never began.

Institutional reading: the working lexicon
The Readings apply a precise vocabulary. Each term carries a structural meaning, distinct from its ordinary sense. Read the words on the left. Do not let them drift toward the words on the right.
Institutional reading
Structural examination of a project before it becomes irreversible. It reads whether a project can be read, defended, assigned and assumed by the system that will have to authorise and maintain it. It precedes compliance audit, market study and financial due diligence. It is not an analysis.
Institutional legibility
Property by which an institution can be assigned a governance, defended during a regulatory examination and assumed within a national or European educational system. An institution is read before it is filed. This is not validity.
The Four Properties
Definitional set of the four properties a legible institution must permit: Understood as a whole, Assigned to a governance, Defended under examination, Assumed publicly.
Institutional defensibility
The capacity of a structure to hold under examination. A structure can be compliant and yet indefensible when the examination that follows a declaration goes further than the declaration itself. Defensibility is not compliance.
Assignability
Property by which responsibility, within an institution, can be attributed to a named and qualified holder. A governance that cannot be assigned cannot be defended, whatever its intentions.
Exposure
The moment when an institution becomes legible to the system, and to the public, as what it declares itself to be. Before exposure, a structure can be architected. After exposure, the gap no longer belongs solely to architecture. It becomes a trace the system can read.
Arché
Arché is not consulted. Arché is commissioned. It is the procedure by which the House conducts a complete institutional reading before exposure, and the only point of entry to a reading. It delivers a single verdict: GO, NOT YET or NO GO.

Each Reading begins with a certainty, reveals the blind spot, examines the case and delivers a doctrinal verdict at one of three levels: GO, NOT YET or NO GO.
Are these institutional readings actual cases?
Yes. Each Reading arises from a real institutional situation read by the House. It restitutes, in an anonymised form, the reasoning applied within the Arché framework. No identifying detail of the institution is disclosed. Only the doctrinal lesson is preserved.
What is the relationship between the corpus and Arché?
The corpus illustrates the institutional reasoning developed by the House. Arché applies its determination framework confidentially to a specific project, within an agreed scope. The corpus does not replace Arché. Every institutional entry begins under the Arch.
Can I request an institutional reading of my own project?
Yes, through the Arché procedure. Arché applies to any project facing a structuring decision before exposure: campus opening, European entry, transfer execution, governance transition, request for recognition. The Arché reading is conducted in confidence and delivers a verdict GO, NOT YET or NO GO.
Will more institutional readings be published?
Yes. The Readings of the House are an evolving public corpus. New Readings are added quarterly. Each Reading documents a structural friction that recurs in many institutions. The corpus is organised, not exhaustive.
